Thinking Towards the Weekend

Beer takes its place at the table
Wine isn't the only match for fine food, as dinner with a brewmaster shows

Beer gets a bad rap among foodies. Sure, a Miller Lite or Michelob may be appropriate with a hot dog or a slice of greasy pizza. But finicky gourmets turn their noses up at the mere thought of drinking beer with the finer offerings found at the nation's top restaurants. Wine takes center stage in high-end dining rooms.

They call that food? Gimme a break, where are the meat and potatoes?

Anheuser-Busch Sued Over 'Dirty Water'

BOSTON - The song "Dirty Water" blares at Fenway Park after every Red Sox victory and has become part of the winning soundtrack of baseball-crazy Massachusetts. The band that wrote the 1966 hit says it is used in Budweiser commercials, and the rock 'n' rollers are none too happy.

The song is an ode to Boston and its once infamously polluted waterways.
The Standells learned of the Budweiser commercials when their record company received a "substantial" royalty payment for use of the song. The band broke up in the 1970s.

One hit and "substantial" royalty payment for a band, which broke up in the 1970s, "Dirty Water" blares at Fenway Park after every Red Sox victory. They should pay Anheuser-Busch. Greedy has beens!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Some are good, some are bad. I think I will pick the ones off the list I like. Oops, there goes a few years.

Cordless jump-roping: exercise for the clumsy
Newly patented invention a workout for your heart — and imagination

High-tech handles aren't needed and you just don't have to worry about tripping on the rope. It is also good for mental institutions and prisons where rope is a suicide risk. And low ceiling fans aren't a hazard any more.

What a great invention - all I need is two handles!!!! I think for the prisons they need to keep the ones with handles!!!!

More workers do yoga, get massages on the job
Those who get massages more alert and less stressed, study shows

More companies are offering employees the on-site pleasures of massage and yoga. "We have to do whatever we can to keep our employees happy." In a sign of their appeal, programs such as on-site massage — when a company may hire a licensed massage therapist to set up shop in a spare room — typically show up as desirable factors in lists of the best U.S. places to work.

"It's wonderful, it's a stress reliever, it's good for employee morale," said a worker. "My argument is, you're going to do much better in terms of productivity if you allow your employees to get up and move around for a little bit, and it's better than smoking a cigarette or even having a cup of coffee," said Meredith Stern, a partner at Infinite Massage in San Francisco.

It may be better than smoking a cigarette, but if it is like some of the massage parlors I have heard of in a spare room, smoking a cigarette will definitely be needed after the massage!!!!!
