Woman returns lockbox containing $40,000
Teresa Stiles was putting gas into her car when she saw the lockbox, which contained about $40,000, fall off a Brink’s truck onto a street Monday morning. When neither the truck's driver nor other people nearby responded, Stiles retrieved the box from the roadway, put it in her car and drove straight to the Police Department.
"I would hope that if anybody else would find it they would have done the same thing I did," Stiles said.
We all would hope the same thing, but unfortunately it is not true. This one you can blame on the politicians as they steal so much, normal people start to believe it is OK.
DUI checkpoints under attack by the liquor industry
In a 24-hour town like Las Vegas, police know there's a much greater chance of drunk drivers behind the wheel at any point during the day or night, so they rely on sobriety checkpoints to keep you safe. But now the liquor industry wants that to stop. They are saying checkpoints are a waste of time.
The liquor industry thinks getting drunk drivers off the road is a waste of time? What planet are they from?
H.S. student gives speech despite death threats
Via video at graduation says, ‘If times seem tough, don’t ever give up.’
Harry S. Truman High School theater teacher Lou Volpe carries a photograph of Tyrone Lewis to an empty seat among the graduates during graduation ceremonies in Bristol Township, Pa., on Friday.
Tyrone Lewis, 18, was excluded from the ceremony at Harry S. Truman High School because of the death threats, which police said stem from his sister's alleged involvement in a fatal shooting. A star athlete and the class president, Lewis gave his speech via video from a municipal building a few miles away from the ceremony. A framed picture of Lewis was placed on an empty chair. As the story goes, Gang Bangers threatened to kill him because his sister was going to testify against some of them.
He is a brave individual and we all need to wake up and shut these gangs down. This has become a war that needs to be declared and fought to the end here in the United States!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grad Sheds Wheelchair, Walks
(June 8) - When Erin Fakan walked across the stage to pick up her high school diploma on Sunday, she shocked a lot of people — including her parents.
Erin, 19, has spina bifida, and has been confined to a wheelchair, for the most part, since fourth grade. But, when her name was called at her graduation ceremony, she stunned everyone by getting up and, with the help of a brace, walking about 150 feet to waiting school officials. Erin decided in April that she was going give her family the very special graduation gift.
What motivated her to try the special feat? "From all the family support that I've had throughout my whole life," she explained to co-anchor Rene Syler on The Early Show Thursday, "I thought that would be a great gift I could give back to them."
Everyone stood up, everybody was crying. Her brothers were crying. People were coming up after the graduation and still crying. It was very moving, very touching.
Wow if this didn't grab you nothing will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK I will close with this feel good story. Have a great Saturday.
