Now this is why dogs are man's best friends!

Dog Rescues Boy From Colorado River

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (May 17) - A Labrador retriever rescued a 9-year-old survivor of Hurricane Katrina from a river after the boy's raft hit a log and he fell overboard, authorities said.

Ryan Rambo, 9, fell into the Roaring Fork River on Sunday, Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario said.

The 2-year-old Lab, named Zion, jumped in the river and swam to Ryan after he began screaming for help, said Chelsea Bennett, 13, the dog's owner.

Ryan held on to Zion as the dog swam back to the bank. The boy suffered only a scratch, said his mother, Deana Rambo.

I am posting a picture of another pair of stars - Chelsea and her late brother, Chaps. These are Labrador Retrievers like the one mentioned here.

I thought gas prices were high in the United States, but in Germany it is beyond expensive!

Friend Left as Deposit at Gas Station

BERLIN (May 18) - A German woman left her friend as a deposit at a gas station because she did not have enough cash to pay for her petrol, police said Wednesday.

"She didn't have enough money to pay the bill, so her friend stayed behind as a human deposit while she went to withdraw cash," said a spokesman for police in the southern town of Muenchberg. "Unfortunately, the woman did not return."

Two hours after the 20-year-old driver left, the gas station called the police, who interrogated the stranded "deposit" before releasing her. Police are investigating the driver on suspicion of fraud.

Now that's what friends are for!!!!!
