What in the World?
Welcome to my world on a Friday.
You just never know on a slow day what you will find here.
Horrible news:
No '24' This Season Thanks to Strike
Fox said it would not air "24" this season
"24" started production late, and was affected by the recent wildfires. The show's star, Kiefer Sutherland, is also scheduled to do a stint in jail later this year in connection with a drunk-driving conviction.
I hate unions. Jack ought to yell at them "Do it now, do you understand me?"
Then shoot them in the leg!!
Vase Kept in Closet Sells for Millions
A precious 18th century Chinese vase sat in a closet virtually forgotten for about three decades before selling for some $5.87 million Wednesday, Sotheby's the British auction house said.
But it is after all Chinese, so should the buyer beware of LEAD PAINT?
You know it's not funny how we have forgotten what the previous generation taught us.
I remember it as if it were just yesterday. My dad would yell at me to hurry up and get the lead out.
I had no idea where that expression came from until lately.
Our parents knew lead in paint was harmful so they changed the laws to get the lead out.
Thus the phrase was coined "Get the lead out."
Enter the greedy politicians who figure the previous generation was either dead or suffering from Alzheimers so they, the politicians, could line their pockets by opening the door for the Chinese to import all their stuff painted with lead paint and who would be the wiser.
The older I get the smarter my parents were and the dumber the politicians are.
Into The Shadows
When you get older and gray, people walk by you and have nothing to say.
Even though you are old you may still know a thing or two, oh how you wish someone would stop and ask a question of you.
When you were young, people would ask for your advice; some would request you to help them fix things and that was nice.
But now the helpful portion of your life is a thing of the past and if anyone asks you for help you know on their list you were last.
So the darkness is setting in and the time nears when I will be gone.
It's downhill from here; I don't want to go I yell, because I know my trip is to what some call hell.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow, my feet wish they were riding in a Cadillac Eldorado.
As my legs are starting to twang they would surely settle for a convertible Mustang.
This walkin stuff is really a bummer so I wouldn't even mind a gas guzzling Hummer.
I'm getting tired now and am starting to sweat. I wish I was in a nice red Corvette.
The trip seems to get larger and larger oh how nice if I had a Dodge Charger.
The trip is long and now I am draggin, oh please please even a Volkswagen.
But for one like me something like that will never be.
So I guess I'll just keep doing it my way as I walk down that long lonesome highway.
Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
That's it for today.
I have stopped posting on weekends however Sunday is Veterans day and I will have a special post that day in their honor so please stop by.
