Lucky
No matter how you spell it, a dog named Zoe' or Zoey is just plain smart.
Tiny Dog Saves Baby From Rattlesnake
MASONVILLE, Colo. - Zoey is a Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, she was a real bulldog.
Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents' northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.
"She got in between Booker and the snake, and that's when I heard her yipe," said Monty Long, the boy's grandfather.
The dog required treatment and for a time it appeared she might not survive. Now she prances about.
"These little bitty dogs, they just don't really get credit," Booker's grandma Denise Long told the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.
Have you ever noticed how the little dogs don't seem to have any fear? I've seen the taco bell dogs bark at very large dogs. Very lucky the dog was there!!
Some times a person is lucky and some times not. For the people in the next story, they were unlucky.
Power Outage Traps 200 in St. Louis Arch
ST. LOUIS - Tourists could travel to the top of the Gateway Arch on Sunday, after a power outage Saturday night trapped roughly 200 people inside the landmark for up to three hours.
Visitors at the top of the Arch had to wait about three hours to get down, Mares said. He said those inside the tram cars waited about two hours, but were probably the most uncomfortable without air conditioning.
Now I consider myself lucky.
A few years ago we were in St. Louis and at the Arch and with a lot of coaxing the boys and I persuaded Vic to ride to the top with us. First off inside the tram cars is a very confined space, and second you are inside a leg of the Arch that was not designed for these trams so you get claustrophobic.
Had this happened while we were on the tram Vic would have gone insane and who knows if she would have let the boys live as I know I would have been the first one she off'd!!
Well, I don't want to push my luck so that's it for today. May the force be with you!!!!
