Eat'n Good in the Neighborhood

Ah the wife says dinner is ready, come sit at the table.
It's time to eat for which I am ready, willing and able.

She explains to me it's time and from now on healthy it will be.
Of all the words to hear those are the worst to me.

There on the plate were the green beans waxed with a good shine.
How does one tell the wife those beans will not touch these lips of mine?

As I move my fork around on the plate what else do you think I see.
How she washed and cut those nice size pieces of fresh celery.

I tried to be nice when I said celery doesn't make my taste buds flutter.
From across the table she threw a jar and said fill the celery with peanut butter.

As I look further on the plate of all the greens what else will I see.
Oh no there's a big bunch of spinach staring back at me.

She tells me she has fixed all of the good food and won't I try it please.
My heart stopped as I look at these little round green things I think they call peas.

She is smiling and so proud as she sets down a large plate of what I think is asparagus.
Now the time is here and this new menu we definitely need to discuss.

There is an intense fear that instead of catsup she will bring out a tomato.
Just then my wife wakes me up and says it's time come doctor your potato.

I must have fallen asleep and was dreaming because I was really beat.
Much to my surprise there on the table was a big steak, oh yes red meat.

The food looked so good and with a smile to my wife I picked up my silverware.
Then as I enjoyed my meat and potato I told her the story of my worst nightmare.



Hee Hee I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to become a vegetarian.


Long day what can I say, I can only do what I can do.


When choosing between two evils I always like to go for the one I've never tried before.


Life comes at you fast, be prepared to duck!


Live life in the fast lane but if you slow down move to the right!!


I was going to write 6 or 7 more paragraphs but my avid reader Ben advised I was going long on here.
