What Can I Say
OK, it's Sunday so let's do a quick little bit of Church work:
TESTING THE FAITH
Evangelist drowns trying to walk on water
Pastor reportedly told congregation he could repeat miracle of Jesus
An evangelist who tried replicating Jesus' miracle of walking on water has reportedly drowned off the western coast of Africa. Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle, and he attempted it from a beach in Gabon's capital of Libreville.
"He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus. He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back."
The New Testament records the story of Jesus walking on the Sea of Galilee as he approached his disciples in a boat.
"And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea." (Matthew 14:25)
One would think when he got to his waist in water he would have gotten a revelation that he did not have enough faith to walk on water!!
I had a revelation the other night that I could part the sea like Moses. But unlike this idiot, I tried it on my pool and nothing happened. I guess I didn't have enough faith either.
I didn't try walking on water because I knew the miracle of Jesus walking on water needed ice to make the trick work!
(Professor of Oceanography Doron Nof and the co-authors of his study theorize that a rare combination of optimal water and atmospheric conditions resulted in a unique, localized freezing phenomenon called "springs ice, according to Physorg.com, which specializes in news about science, technology, physics and space.)
Would-Be Robber Mistakes Town Hall for Bank
VIENNA - A would-be robber was arrested after he tried to hold up his local town hall, mistaking it for a bank.
The building has a sign signaling there is a cash point on the outside wall.
Wearing a mask and waving a toy pistol, the unemployed man burst into the town hall in the village of Poggersdorf, southern Austria, and shouted: "Hold-up, Hold-up!"
He realized his mistake when an employee explained to him where he was.
The 34-year-old man was arrested when he came back later to pick up his motorbike which he had parked outside the town hall.
I guess there are stupid people everywhere!!
Italian ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ smooch to rob
The Couple would lull passers-by by kissing in car, then jump out and rob them
ROME - An Italian couple dubbed “Bonnie and Clyde” by police robbed at least three people by kissing wildly in a parked car, then jumping out to attack unsuspecting passers-by.
Police arrested the pair in Milan on Monday, and nicknamed them after the U.S. gangster sweethearts.
The 27-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend would sit in their car, passionately hugging and kissing to lull passers-by who may otherwise have suspected them of loitering.
Three women passing the car on different days in August were then suddenly assaulted by the man, who beat them and threatened them with a knife before taking all their belongings.
Voyeurism, people can't stand not to watch! What a great cover!! Or uncover!! This would be kinda funny except for the beating and the knife.
Boy Scouts Save Toddler From River
OMAHA, Neb. - A troop of Boy Scouts on a camping trip saved an 18-month-old girl who had fallen in a river upstream from them and was floating face down, officials said.
The boys were swimming in the Platte River at Two Rivers State Recreation Area, about 20 miles west of Omaha, on Saturday when 11-year-old Christian Nanson spotted something floating in the water. It turned out to be a young girl.
Nanson and John Fitzgerald, 9, both members of an Omaha Scout troop, reached the girl and brought her to shore while others called for help on a cell phone, assistant scoutmaster Matt Fitzgerald told the Omaha World-Herald.
Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy David Brock said the little girl, Stephanie Pacheco, was treated for hypothermia and released from a hospital Monday. The child had slipped away from her mother upstream, said Duane Arp, a conservation officer with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
The Scout Motto: Be Prepared.
The Scout Slogan: Do a Good Turn Daily.
The Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
They did all that and more. The mother of the 18-month-old girl should be charged with child endangerment!!!
Miserly Burger King charges hurt kid for ice
Ice does not appear on Burger King’s menu, but it should after a Newton teen limped into the Moody Street fast-food restaurant last week looking for some cool relief of a sore ankle.
John Michael Jasset staggered into the restaurant about 5 p.m. after being hit by a car. He was thrown from his bike and also scraped his knee, arms and hands, his mother, Cheryl Jasset, said.
But when he asked for some ice to put on his ankle, he was told he had to pay for it. The charge: 99 cents, plus 5 cents for tax. That’s the price of a small soda.
"It’s outrageous," Cheryl Jasset said. "He wasn’t dripping blood or anything,
but his knee, arms and hands were cut."
John Michael Jasset said he was afraid to ask for ice, so his friend did. The friend then paid for it because John did not have cash.
Cheryl Jasset said a language barrier was evident at Burger King on the night of the incident, and has been in the days since.
No boy scouts at Burger King. I used to think there was a language barrier at 7 - 11's , but the fast food industry has that claim to fame now.
They never get your complete pick-up order correct!! When you call to complain, there is definitely a language barrier and I'm not sure whether to push 1 or 2. Maybe the secret is you should only order the items with numbers. I'll have the #1 por favor!!
Let's close out Sunday's post on a good note with the following:
'Lexie' a Labrador, golden retreiver mix, is helping with the ceremonial ground breaking for the new the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals facility in the Algiers area of New Orleans.
We are halfway through the three day weekend, and I hope you are enjoying every minute of it. Just remember, I want you and others to read this blog so if you drink, please don't drive!!!!

I'm sure Burger King hates that it's employee didn't respond better in this situation.
