Compulsive shopper gets 27 months in prison
She buys over 1,500 things with $1.5 million embezzled from credit union
A woman accused of embezzling more than $1.5 million from a credit union and buying more than 1,500 items including hundreds of pairs of shoes, handbags, a $60,000 swimming pool and gambling trips to Las Vegas was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in prison. Betty Jean Barachie, of Kunkletown, bought 58 coats, 16 chain saws, a $25,000 John Deere tractor and more than 3,000 books.
Compulsive shopper? Ha! Other than the embezzling part, my wife is the shopper's role model and could put this woman in the shade. Hey, wait a minute, Vic where is my tractor? Be sure it has custom paint with flames and a V-8 under the hood. Tractor pull here I come. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!
Woman Auctions Herself With Her Ferrari
BERLIN - A woman living in Germany is auctioning off her red Ferrari Enzo sports car and including a little extra in the package -- herself. The 26-year-old has invited bids on Internet auction site ebay starting at 1.25 million euros, or $1.6 million. She said she was rich herself, liked her car and was looking for a man who could foot the bill for such a luxury. "I want a man who doesn't like me just for my money." No bids have been made yet in the auction which ends in a week.
Well, yeah, no wonder. You can buy a car like that for $1.599 million. If you pay the extra $1.00 then you get someone in the seat next to you that will nag at you every time you drive the car. Why pay extra for that? No wonder no bids, a real no brainer there!!!!!!!!!

Men Charged With Cheating in Fishing Contest
BENTON, Ky. - A pair of fishing buddies were charged with 10 felonies after being accused of cheating in fishing tournaments on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley on the Kentucky-Tennessee border.
Kentucky State Police Sgt. Brent White said Nesmith and Thomas won several thousand dollars and a bass boat worth $30,000 by allegedly catching fish before a tournament, then submitting the fish as being caught during the competition.
Kentucky-Tennessee - explains a lot! Buba Nesmith and Jim Bob Thomas. Buba shown here with their previous bass boat worth $35.00!
Utah’s top DUI cop cited for DUI
Commander of Highway Patrol drunken driving unit reportedly blows 0.12 , Utah's legal limit is 0.08 percent.
SALT LAKE CITY - The commander of the Utah Highway Patrol's drunken driving unit has been cited for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing his cruiser into a concrete barrier. Lt. Fred Swain veered off the shoulder of a highway in Draper, overcorrected, and hit the barrier that separates the lanes.
Utah in the news again (sorry Robin). Let's see, isn't Utah a Mormon State and the odds are Fred is a Mormon? Wow, Mormons drinking beer - who woulda guessed? Also, how much of that 3.2 beer that Utah sells did he have to drink to blow .012? Funny how the ones that tell you you can't but they do.
Kids
Weighted Toys May Help Burn Calories
INDIANAPOLIS - Doctors and health advocates have warned for years that American children are getting fatter. Now even some kids' teddy bears are packing on the pounds.
But these heavy toys aim to combat obesity, not add to it. "By adding weights, you're adding some intensity to the action." "Having a 3-pound teddy bear may not only help with strength, but with balance and coordination."
And once the kids make a 3-pound jerk and press, you could increase the weight until he or she reaches 8 pounds, then you could shoot them up with steroids so they would be the champion teddy bear lifter at their pre-school. Bumper sticker - I am the proud parent of a 2-year-old 95-pound Teddy bear lifting champion. Mr. Smith, please come pick up your 3-year-old at pre-school because, even though he is skinny, he hit little Johnny over the head with a 30-pound teddy bear.
