I Noticed, They Noticed, and No one Noticed
I Noticed
I was remiss in not reporting this earlier, but rest assured it did not go unnoticed that July 5th was a special day in history. Sixty years ago on July 5th, 1946, one of the world's biggest events took place. This event literally changed the world as we see it. Sixty years ago, on July 5, 1946, the bikini bathing suit designed by Louis Reard made its debut during an outdoor fashion show at the Molitor Pool in Paris and the world has never been the same.
Louis, wherever you are, thank you!!!!!!
They noticed
For those who have read my blog, you may have noticed I have done a few stories about bears. Well, it's that time again.
A bear cub drew a crowd of spectators at a Lake Tahoe neighborhood as it munched on barbecue-chicken-and-jalapeno pizza in the back seat of a vintage red Buick convertible. It also apparently washed it down with a swig of a Jack Daniel's mixer, some vodka, and a beer taken from a cooler.
Now that's some bear - pizza, jack, vodka and top it off with a beer. He must have wanted carhop service because the car's horn blew nonstop as the cub pressed the seat into the steering wheel. He did break a few laws if anybody is brave enough to try to arrest him. Breaking and entering, stealing, underage drinking, minor in possession, public intoxication and noise pollution. He was styling in that vintage convertible though!!
No One Noticed
And now that dreaded announcement.
Wag's Blog started out as a fun idea that never took off. It seems as though no one wants to take the time to read my blog or as much as I hate to admit, no one found it interesting.
My goal when I started this blog was to reach somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,200 daily readers. I know, I know, but you always set a high goal and realistically 900 to a 1,000 a day would have made me happy.
Unfortunately, after two months and 66 postings, I have reached out to only about 5 sometime daily readers.
Rather than adjust my goals to 11, I am a realist and I don't think I will get to 10, so it is time to reflect upon my blog status.
After much reflection I have figured out that without readers, it then becomes me talking to myself. I do that anyway and don't have to type or drive my Editor Pat crazy. So there comes a time in every man's life where he has to accept defeat gracefully.
Today is my day, and so after a day of mourning, it is with a heavy heart that this blog will depart. Special thanks to Vic for putting up with this adventure and special thanks to Pat who handled the editing and postings for me.
Thanks to my loyal 5 who kept me going this long. Now, onward to the next adventure.
To paraphrase Walter Cronkite:
"And that's the way it is this July 8th, 2006."
To all a Good Day and to all a Good Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cue the lights, fade to darkness!!!!!!!!!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Say it ain't so, Joe!!!! Er, Dave. Seriously, I think you should reconsider. You had a lot of interesting articles here and I would miss them.
Geez, you miss one day after a busy week and your favorite blog goes away on you. I have enjoyed your efforts and stories I would have missed otherwise. Best of luck with your new adventures.
Gene (aka Allan)
You had good stuff, although you were up against the media, both liberal and conservative they did not compare to your home spun stories and articles. Even though I never read it ever day, did enjoy maybe later in few months, you can revive it. April.
Start it up again--puhleeze!!!! I'm having blog reading withdrawals plus I am missing out on some really good and interesting articles you always used to find.
Just wanted to tell you that I'm still missing the blog. :o(
