Much of the anger apparently was directed at Cubs closer Ryan Dempster, who retired the first two batters in the ninth with the Cubs leading 6-5. But two straight batters then reached base ahead of Pierzynski's homer. The Cubs, who have lost two straight and four of five to the White Sox this season, dropped to 30-51.

The hapless Cubs are 30-51 but it can't be the coach's fault, right Dusty? I don't blame the fans for being upset, but instead of on the field they should throw things at the Manager (Dusty) and the GM for keeping Dusty!!! Baker is too busy with commercials for a local car dealership to actually coach!!!! It's time to send Dusty packing and bring in a Little League coach to take over the team. At least with a Little League coach the Cubs would win more games!!!!!

Man Pulls TV From House Fire to Watch Soccer

"When the neighbors shouted 'fire!', I took my little baby and ran out in my nightclothes," the man's wife told the paper. "My husband paid no attention to the danger, just grabbed the television and put it under his arm. After getting out of the house, he then set about finding an electric socket to plug in and continue watching his game."

The wife and little kid were on their own. This soccer fan wanted the TV. As the saying goes, "Stupid is as Stupid does."

There are plenty of friendly fans here, most of them male and many pie-eyed by alcohol. The bad news for the sex trade is that they would rather guzzle another beer than go looking for a prostitute.

Soccer Fan Spends Six Hours Hunting for Hotel

BERLIN - German police rescued an American soccer fan lost in Hanover and unable to find his hotel again after helplessly wandering around the city for more than six hours after a match, federal police said Friday.

The 25-year-old Boston man had checked into his hotel in the afternoon before going to see a match between Poland and Costa Rica but could not remember his hotel's name, its address or anything else about it, a police spokesman said.

Now there is a likely story. An American went to see a soccer match between Poland and Costa Rica and then got lost. An American going to see Poland and Costa Rica. Who's kidding whom? He was pie-eyed by alcohol and looking for the Artemis Sauna Club, an upscale sex club in Berlin.
