Well, I am starting off today's posting with an apology. If anyone visited here and tried to use the e-mail address I posted, you were unsuccessful. As a novice blogger, I unwittingly left out one letter in the address. That has now been corrected in case you tried to e-mail me.

OK let's talk about illegal:

The definition of illegal is: Illegal, or unlawful, describes that which is either prohibited or not authorized by law. In general, conduct is made illegal by statute, rule, or regulation.

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, that in the United States illegal immigration is illegal due to not being authorized by law.
Now let's talk about the May 1st march staged by those who favor "immigration reform." Most of the people favoring immigration reform and marching were illegal, a clear violation of the law!
In my town, as is the case in most towns in the United States, several things are required for it to be a legal march, yes legal march- permits for parades or marches, hired workers to place barricades, insurance polices for damages, and fees to the police department for directing traffic for road closures and crowd control. In Las Vegas, as I bet in your cities, this all was somehow overlooked which again is illegal. Our sheriff said "the police have no intention of citing anyone for those admitted violations of law." The sheriff further stated "if we had tried to stop the marchers it would have led to a fight, arrests."

Wake up America! Is anyone paying attention?
First, once again our tax money is being spent to pay for the illegals march. Second, a certain class of illegals can break the law actually twice at the same time (illegal and no permits) and the police departments that are sworn to uphold the law turn their heads. This type of action is a burden to the taxpayers, discriminatory as to who is allowed to break the law and unfair to any group (e.g., Veterans) that might want to stage a march and have to pay or be arrested.

OK, this is a perfect segue to my next subject: The job of our elected officials (Politicians) as many of you will remember and as the young have been taught, was to represent the citizens of the United States and at the same time do what is best for the United States regardless of their party affiliation.
Maybe it is just me, but it appears they no longer listen to the citizens, much less do what is best for the United States. Now it is what is best for their party and disagree with everything the other party suggests. It is time to take back America! We need to elect all new people. Of course to do that we need to vote! Because of the way our politicians have trained us, we just coast along with a that's-just-the-way-it-is attitude as evidenced by the small percentage of the eligible voters that even vote. The voting system needs to be changed.
Have you ever watched American Idol? Millions of people vote for their favorite singer each week. Maybe we need to take a page out of that book and have all of our politicians running for office compete for 16 weeks and we vote by phone as to who we keep. It certainly can't be any worse than people we have been electing.

Well, that wraps up my ramblings for today. I would like to thank you for visiting, you all come back soon ya hear!

As a footnote, I'm not much of a reader but I have a book I highly recommend.
The title is Pit Road Pets NASCAR Stars And Their Pets. I recommend it for two reasons: the first is because it has a lot of pictures so it is an easy read and the second is 100% of the Ryan Newman Foundation's net proceeds from this book go to a humane society in North Carolina. http://www.ryannewmanfoundation.org/ http://www.pitroadpets.com/
